11-04-2024, small tug SŁAWKA (1964, 165 hp) left the Port Canal, Nowy Port towards the tug HENRYK (1975, 12 tbp) which was entering the Port Canal with the backhoe dredger KRAKEN on tow. All vessels are part of the fleet of PRCIP (Dredging & Underwater Works Co. Ltd) of Gdansk.
The HENRYK was build as SAR vessel SZTORM-2 of the R-27 class of 4 vessels, this type was used along the Polish coast. A slightly smaller type was the R-17 class which excists of 8 vessels. The SAR vessels were ordered by the Polish Ship Rescue (Polskie Ratownictwo Okretowe).
