VOE EARL commenced trails and christening ceremony

On the 9th January 2012 the Damen Shipyard Hardinxveld-Giessendam newbuilding Multicat 2613 VOE EARL (Imo 9639983) commenced trails in the Rotterdam Europoort. The hull, built in Poland, arrived in the Netherlands last year week 2nd September 2011 towed by the tug IKAR. The VOE EARL, with yard number 571655, is owned by Delta Marine Ltd. – Lerwick; Shetland; UK.
The VOE EARL has a a grt of 300 tons a length o.a. of 26.37 mtrs a beam of 13,59 mtrs and a draft of 3.71 mtrs. Her total engine putout is 2.850 bkW with a speed of 10.6 knots and a bollard pull of 54 tons. After her successful trails the vessel on the 12th January 2012 was christened on the yard. Mr. Jos van Woerkum, yards director, thanks the owner Mr. Spanswick for the order and everybody who was involved in the building of this powerful new design. Hereafter the sponsor lady Mrs Elizabeth Spanswick thanks the yard for this beautiful workhorse. Then in a tradition she put a hat on her head with the colours of the National flag of Scotland. She wishes the vessel a safe, good and productive live and christened the vessel with throwing a bottle of champagne against the vessels hull. After change of flag the visitors were invited to come on board to bring a toast with a real Scottish whiskey on this new vessel for Delta Marine. The VOE EARL is the third in a row for Delta Marine after the VOE VIKING and the VOE JARL.
